At So Fetch Dog Training, I believe learning should be fun — for both ends of the leash!
My approach is fear-free, positive reinforcement dog training backed by science, not intimidation. That means no prong collars, no e-collars, and no punishment-based methods. These tools might suppress behavior temporarily, but they often cause stress, confusion, and fear. My goal is to help your dog feel confident, happy, and motivated to work withyou — not afraid of you.
Training isn’t about control; it’s about connection. I’ll teach you how to read your dog’s body language, understand what their behavior really means, and build trust through clear communication and positive experiences.
With over a decade of professional experience, I’ve worked with dogs of every breed, size, and personality — from shy rescues to energetic puppies. Whether you need puppy training, basic obedience, or behavior modification for reactivity, fear, or aggression, I’ll create a personalized plan that fits your goals and your dog’s needs.
I also offer enrichment walks to keep your dog mentally and physically stimulated while reinforcing good manners.
I’m not like other trainers… I’m a cool dog trainer. 😉 (Yes, that’s a Mean Girls reference.)
If you’re looking for a certified dog trainer in Orange County, Long Beach, or the surrounding areas who focuses on kindness, communication, and lasting results, you’re in the right place.

Make fetch happen (or make it happen), is just a play on words of a quote from Mean Girls. Basically, I make fetch happen by delivering lifelong results. I know many dog guardians have had bad experiences with unskilled trainers in the past, or maybe your dog listens great for the trainer but not for you. Well look no further, I am here to get you and your dog on track. As much as I love dogs (which is admittingly a little overboard), I care deeply about making life easier for my human clients. I offer trainer support in between lessons to give you everything you need for success. Contact me any time, I am here for you!

Every dog is unique, which is why So Fetch Dog Training offers individualized training plans that are tailored to meet the specific needs of each dog and their guardian. I enjoy including your family/kids in the training or any other fur babies you may have! I love to think outside the box and make training the most practical for your lifestyle.

Hi, I'm Krysta, and I've loved animals since childhood, especially dogs! Currently I have 3 dogs (and 4 cats). My hobbies include dog training, hiking with my dogs, and training my dogs... All jokes aside, spending time with my dogs really is my favorite hobby! I started out in dog training as a balanced trainer (uses aversive training methods) using e-collars and witnessed first-hand dogs' bonds with their guardians being damaged, and saw new behavioral issues arise. Which is why I'm now dedicated to fear free training that promotes a joyful learning experience.
Once I made the switch from balanced training to fear free training I was under the mentorship of someone who is still my close friend today and who now trains falcons and educates the public on predatory birds as well as reptiles. (I love visiting her home and being surrounded by so many cool animals!) And guess what? She uses positive reinforcement methods to train and care for her animals, who some of are not very domesticated. She gave me my start in learning science backed training methods as well as gaining a deeper understanding of behavior.
I have worked in just about every pet industry starting from dog and cat grooming to working as a vet assistant. This gives me an edge and niche understanding of certain aspects of training such as grooming desensitization and desensitizing dogs to veterinary procedures. I also know tons of tricks to make dogs feel more comfortable in those environments. You could say I'm a jack of all trades, master of dog training.
I have a soft spot for rescue dogs and fostered my now foster fail in 2024. I already had 2 other dogs, but I was determined to rehabilitate him and give him a loving home after he gave me a nasty bite while I was working with his rescue. I could see how overstimulated and frustrated he was and just knew I had to get him out of that busy environment. He has been one of my greatest teachers.
